Why K0mplexity exists.
We've never been more connected, and we've never been more alone. We scroll past thousands of people every day and talk to almost none of them. I wanted to build something that gets people talking again.
In 2025 I started writing to pen pals, and I loved it. Getting to know someone on the other side of the world, one message at a time, was one of the best things I'd done in years. I want everyone to get to feel that.
K0mplexity takes inspiration from apps like Global Penfriends and Grindr. One showed me how special it is to connect with someone far away, the other how simple it can be to see who's around you right now.
But so many apps are built for just one thing: dating, pen pals or finding a gym buddy. People are more than one thing. So K0mplexity lets you decide what you're looking for, whether that's a friend, a pen pal, a date or someone to explore a new city with.
Most of these apps have also turned into meat markets. You flick through photos and rate people on their looks in a split second, like cuts of meat behind the counter. That's why every photo on K0mplexity starts out blurred. You get to know someone first, and you only see their face when they choose to show you.
And I'm tired of freemium apps that hide the good parts behind a paywall and treat you as the product. K0mplexity should simply be a great experience: private, with no ads or trackers, and free for everyone.
