Why we built it
Everyone's lonely. Nobody's talking.
We scroll past thousands of people every day and talk to almost none of them. K0mplexity is here to change that. Not by showing you more people, but the right ones: people who share what you care about, wherever they are in the world. Then it gets out of the way, so you can start talking.
How it works
Trust grows as you talk.
Trust is based on back-and-forth and time. It grows as you both reply to each other and keep talking over different days, and a level never drops once you reach it.
Level 0
No back-and-forth yet. Reply to each other to start building trust.
One app, your reasons
You decide what you're looking for.
K0mplexity isn't one type of app. Some people want a gym buddy, others a pen pal, a date or someone to explore a new city with. Say what you're after, and find people looking for the same.

Archetypes
Which archetype are you?
The facets you pick add up to an archetype. Each one is a group of interests that belong together, placed here by how close they are to the others.
The Foodie
You plan trips around restaurants and remember cities by what you ate there.
Private by design
Meeting people shouldn't cost you your privacy.
End-to-end encrypted
Messages, photos and calls can only be read or heard by you and the person you're talking to.
Your location stays yours
Your phone rounds it to a 5 km area before anything is sent. Your precise location never leaves it.
No email, phone or password
You sign in with a passkey, so there's no contact data that could ever leak.
Your photo, your choice
Everyone sees a soft blur. Only the people you choose get to see your real photo.
No ads, no trackers
No advertising, no analytics and nothing sold. The app has no reason to watch you.
A server that forgets
Messages are deleted from the server the moment they're delivered, and after 30 days at most.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
What is K0mplexity?
An app for meeting people who share what you care about, nearby or anywhere in the world. You pick facets that describe you and interests you look for in others, and K0mplexity shows you the people you match with best.
Is it a dating app?
Not only. Some people are looking for friends, a pen pal, a gym buddy or someone to explore a new city with, and some are looking for a date. You say what you're after, and you can find people looking for the same.
Is it free?
Yes, K0mplexity is free to use. There are no subscriptions, no paid features and no ads.
When can I download it?
K0mplexity is coming to iPhone and Android in November 2026. You'll need iOS 18 or Android 14 or newer.
Do I need an email address or phone number?
No. You sign in with a passkey: a key made by your phone and unlocked with Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone's code. It syncs through iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager, so it moves with you to a new phone. We never ask for an email address, phone number or password, so there's none of that for us to lose.
Who can see my photo?
Your real photo stays on your phone. Our server only stores a BlurHash of it: about 30 characters of text that describe a few soft color gradients. That's all anyone else sees, as a smooth blur, and it holds far too little detail to rebuild your face. When you choose to share your real photo with someone, your phone encrypts it so only their phone can open it, and our server deletes it the moment it's delivered. You can stop sharing at any time, and their phone is then asked to delete its copy.
Who can see where I am?
Your phone rounds your location to a 5 km square before anything is sent, so everyone in the same square has exactly the same location as far as our server knows. Other people only see a rounded distance between squares, like "< 5 km" or "25 km away", so nobody can pin you down by checking your distance from different spots. Your location only updates while the app is open, at most once an hour, and never in the background.
Can you read my messages?
No. Messages and photos are end-to-end encrypted on your phone with libsodium, a well-tested encryption library, so only the person you're talking to can open them. Our server only holds the encrypted message until their phone downloads it, then deletes it straight away, and anything not picked up is deleted after 30 days. Calls connect your two phones directly and are encrypted too, so they never pass through our server. Notifications only say who sent something, never what it says.
How does matching work?
You pick 10 to 50 facets that describe you and 2 to 10 interests you're looking for in others. Your match score checks how well their facets fit your interests and how well yours fit theirs. Related facets count for part of a point, like Jazz and Blues, while things like Smoker and Non-smoker only count when they're exactly the same. People who share an archetype get a 10% boost.
Why can't I call someone straight away?
Voice and video calls unlock at the Calling trust level: at least 8 back-and-forths, on at least two different days. A back-and-forth counts each time the conversation switches from one of you to the other, so sending lots of messages in a row doesn't speed it up. The phone being called checks this itself and quietly turns down calls that come too early.
How old do I need to be?
You need to be 18 or older to use K0mplexity.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, right from the app. It removes everything we hold about you: your profile, blurred photo, facets, interests and any messages still waiting to be delivered. The only exception is a banned account, where we keep a fingerprint of its passkey so it can't sign up again.
